Welcome to the first of four newsletters you will be receiving over the next three weeks in the lead up to your race at the CBR 48hr.

Please visit the website over the coming weeks as we will update it regularly. We will respond to any questions personally and via the website for all to benefit. We have included maps of the venue layout under the “crew set up “ tab and maps to the local shops under the “amenities” tab

At the venue you will have access to two microwaves, hot water and an ice machine! Tea coffee and milo will be available in the food and beverage area along with a fridge full of milk. Drinks tables will be on the inside and outside of the track, loaded with “Tailwind”, water and sweet snacks.

We will provide a range of meals for runners including toast and porridge for breakfast, pasta with sauce for dinner and soup and bread overnight. We will also be running a morning and evening BBQ which will be free for runners and volunteers, a gold coin donation for crew and spectators please.

There is a café within the AIS campus, open 09:30 to 16:00 each day. Your crew may benefit from an occasional short walk back to the real world for a proper coffee!

Timing, distances, record attempts, qualifiers and ‘walkers’:  Please email both the race director (pearceperformance@hotmail.com) and timing official (flyerultra@gmail.com) if you are targeting a specific record or if you plan to race walk the event. Please also confirm at registration. Crew who are involved with record attempts should also make themselves known to the registration team, race director and timing official.

Martin Fryer is our timing and results official and as many of you know an ultra running legend. He has been working tirelessly to ensure every detail for your race to be recorded accurately. We will provide further detail on bib numbers, timing chips and lanes in coming newsletters.

First Aid is being provided track side by Blackwell Medical. Many of you will know Rhian Blackwell from C2K and he has personally been my crew for many ultras.  Please seek medical help and or advice early. Rhian can and will work with runner and crew to turn your race around and keep you on the track.

**Importantly let Rhian via the race director know if you have any medical conditions** prior to the event start by emailing pearceperformance@hotmail.com. Rhian will then contact you to discuss.
